Subject: And with their deaths, their moons will die as well.

The black closes his eyes and dips his muzzle, silent laughter evident in his expression, at her remark. A grin flashes by, elicited by her canny question, and Atumi nods. "Exactly. If a Korat were to rely solely on the power within, that supply would quickly be used up and the beast would die. However, by supplementing his own power with the power of the natural world around him, he would remain healthy, and his own storehouse of energy within him would slowly increase in its capacity to hold energy. Very few masters are capable of drawing energy from another sentient, and I know of only one who would cross that moral line." Ears flatten briefly, but the rage that flames in teal-hued eyes is quickly vanquished and banished to some dark corner of the black's mind.

"The reason that most Korats never even discover their own internal energy is simple... it's initially very weak and well-hidden. Yours is not so. Building your own strength will take time and effort, but the process should be remarkably easier for you... as you have a head-start, so to speak. But to avoid exhausting your own supply, I will teach you to draw on the energy of life." The black grins slightly. "Of the power sources I mentioned earlier, which do you think you would find it easiest to draw energy from? We'll start with that one."
