Understand why see funny but wanted him to say No and did not need the image of her straddling him. That should only be Kate.

Hang on there, Castle did not say no at any time. He kept making excuses, but all he had to do was say, "Not intersted.". Let's face it, it could have stopped had he said no to the date in the first place, like Beckett wanted him to. The over the top agressive sexuality was funny because Castle was never in danger of being raped, forced, or abused. It also helped them catch the murderer. Who could possibly have taken this scene seriously?
Loved
Castle in front of the green screen....LOL. I love Kate's hair this season. It's so pretty..

I still maintain that, had the situation been reversed, it would've been considered an assault. Yet just because he is a man it wasn't a danger? Yes maybe he wasn't in actual danger to get raped; however, we do hear him say no (through Beckett's phone), and when she jumps on top of him, he struggles to get her off, even slapping her back! The truth is, he was pretty helpless there - had it been a man, he could've just punched him. But could he just have punched a woman?! If he had, who would be the one in trouble? It'd be Castle, not the 'attacker'. It's showcasing a total double standard. (

So true. If guy coming on to Kate she could flip him and take him down but if Castle had done that to this woman she could have charged him with assault. (

Comparing this more or less slapstick humour, with the very serious charges of assault and rape, trivializes the genuine fear and helplessness that an assault victim experiences. Castle could have stopped her in a heart beat without violence. I would NEVER make fun of assault. This was no such thing. I believe it is wrong to cry wolf. Castle was never in any danger. He was never going to be forced to do anything. Castle is strong, not sick or weak. It was funny scene, not a double standard.. Period. (

I think it trivializes it if we don't acknowledge that this sort of behavior is at the very least assaultish toward a man. Yes, it was played for laughs; that doesn't mean I don't find the idea of it cringeworthy. He accepted a date on live TV, he let her in - all he did afterward was basically damage control. Yes, he could've gotten her off him - but no matter how he did it, she could've easily turned it, accused him of untoward behavior and *nobody* would've believed him - and he would *know* that - and that's the double standard. Plus of course that, had it been a woman in his situation, it never would've been played for laughs in the first place. (

Castle didn't say No. He pretended to be on board with her plan, even saying he was going for the oysters or whatever. If a woman pretended she liked the romp when she didn't, and didn't, then she'd be sending out the wrong message, just like Castle. This woman was supposed to be so sexy, that no man could resist. It was an over the top scenario. If Castle had been making it clear he was not interested, and she still kept on, I'd see your point. But even so, can you imagine she would be able to force sex on him? (Inside)
