I'm really bummed right now. I was already grounded for the weekend because I didn't tell my Mom where I was going yesterday. Mom was in one of her "moods" at breakbast because she said I left my clothes all over the bathroom floor last night.

And just now, she got all mad at me because I was disrepectful and talking back. She said she wasn't going to put up with that attitude all day today and said we was going "to take a trip down the hall" right after breakfast. She always says that when I'm about to get a spanking. So I got paddled already today, and the day just started.

I hope everyone else is having a better day than me and stays spank-free this weekend.....

I am Chris's mother. I didn't discover he had been posting to this site until today when I was looking at his 'Internet History.' You all must think I am a really mean, grouchy mama. Chris's dad and I love him very much. He is the joy of our lives!

We are what you might call strict, or old-fashioned, parents, though. Chris has had some special needs and challenges in his life, and we believe he will benefit from consistent, structured rules, firm discipline, and a lot of love. Yes, we do spank Chris when it is necessary, and we did change from using our hand to a paddle when he turned 13 last month. We never spank in anger, though, and we always talk to him beforehand to explain why he is being spanked. We do not like spanking him any more than he likes being spanked, but we are trying to raise Chris to be a responsible young man.

Chris seems to enjoy chatting with the other kids and teenagers and reading their experiences on this site, so I will allow him to continue to post here but will monitor his posts. However, Chris is grounded for the rest of the weekend and will not be back on the computer until at least Monday.

Thanks to everyone who has welcomed him on this site. It means a lot to him and to me. If anyone has any questions for me, I will read them and try to answer them. Thanks again so much!

Hello maam, my name is Taylor. I introduced myself to Chris here the other day.

I don't think you are mean or grouchy at all and I don't any of the other kids who post here would think that. My parents spank me when I misbehave too and even though I don't like them (the spankings I mean) I know it's because they love me and want me to do what's right and behave. I have really good parents and I love them alot. They are strict and old fashioned too I guess.

I'm sorry Chris got into trouble but I hope he can come back soon. He sounds like a really nice boy.

HELLO,

I THINK MOST OF US WHO POST HERE ARE IN A SIMILAR SITUATION TO CHRIS. NONE OF US FELT HE WAS PUTTING YOU IN A MEAN OR GROUCHY LIGHT.

I THINK A UNIQUE THING ABOUT ALL OF US IS THAT WE DRAW SUPPORT FROM DISCUSSING OUR PUNISHMENTS BUT WE ALSO ARE THE PRODUCTS OF GOOD PARENTS. WE HATE OUR PUNISHMENTS BUT WE LOVE OUR PARENTS AND TRULY DO SEE VALUE IN WHY WE ARE PUNISHED. (NOT THAT WE FREELY ADMIT THAT TOO OFTEN.)

SO, I THINK CHRIS IS LIKE THAT. I DO NOT THINK HE FEELS YOU ARE MEAN OR GROUCHY AND I DON'T THINK ANY ONE ELSE HERE DOES EITHER.

THANK YOU FOR APPROVING US FOR HIM.

BTW, MY DAD LOOKS IN ON HERE DAILY AND EVEN POSTS SOMETIMES. I THINK OTHER PARENTS DO AS WELL I KNOW BOB E. IS A PARENT. SO, WE HAVE PARENTS LOOKING IN. YOU SHOULD FEEL FREE TO COME BACK AND SAY HI ANY TIME.

IF I MAY BE SO BLUNT, PLEASE CONSIDER LETTING CHRIS OFF OF HIS PUNISHMENT ON MONDAY. WE GUYS DO HAVE TO LOOK AFTER EACH OTHER. :)

IT WAS NICE TO "MEET" YOU.

Hello, and welcome to this site. I want to echo Caleb's words that no one here considers any parent to be "mean and grouchy" because they use corporal punishment to discipline their children. I am a father to 8 children (9 in a few weeks, actually), and my wife and I certainly use spanking as a method of raising responsible adults, just as you do. My children are 11 year-old and under, so we are using implements other than a paddle to spank, though there are many children here whose parents do use a paddle, and some of those parents are here posting.

This site can be an invaluable source of support for children who are spanked, and I believe that you will find that your son, Chris, will benefit from his participation here. I applaud you for your decision to allow Chris to remain here, and hope that you too will make a post from time to time.

Did your weekend improve? I hope so.

So, when you are grounded, do you just have to stay in or are there other restrictions?

Hi Chris,
Sorry your weekend started so bad! Hope your week goes better!

I always hate having to wait until after breakfast or whatever meal when I know I'm getting paddled. Why do parents do that to us?

Hey, good luck with the week ahead!

Ryan

I have a suggestion that may "save you a grounding" next time- don't leave your clothes on the bathroom floor. Then, I will guess that you were disrespectful and talking back to your Mom while at breakfast when she was talking about your leaving your clothes on the floor.

Let me tell you how you might handle this the next time she is "in one of those moods," Chris. Try apologizing instead of being disrespectful and talking back! You might even give her a hug and a kiss after the apology! It's kind of like that old expression about getting more with honey than anything else. It might be better than getting paddled.

Hi everyone! and thanks for all your messages. I am REALLY glad this weekend is over and I'm not grounded no more. I miss the computer when I'm grounded too! When I get grounded, I just have to stay in my room and I can't watch TV or the computer. Pretty boring! I have early bedtime while I'm grounded too. I hate going to bed when its still light outside, but Mom makes me so I hope I don't get grounded again.

I'm glad to get to know all you on here. This is a cool site!
