In reply to: 's message, "What was your BEST experience at a pageant (now that we have the "worst experience" thread going.)" on 23:16:28 01/08/26 Thu

I am not too keen on Mary Richardson. I had emailed her many years ago about possibly adding a Ms. division and I got a very curt answer back that was borderline rude. Also a friend of mine attended the national pageant (to support a friend that was competing) and she was told to *take off her crown and banner from another system.* She is a principled person-she refused and walked out. Good for her!!

I mean, taking off your crown and sash from another system is actually the norm. Even Miss America has banned crowns and sashes from competing systems at state pageants (NT)No name

Everyone there is supporting the MAO and its local pageants and contestants. They are the headliners. Nothing should be competing for its primacy there. A brooch commemorating another title is appropriate; a crown and/or sash from another program is not. We wouldn't say a MAO woman would find a fit at another pageant; and visa versa. I went to a MAO local where a competing titleholder wore a larger crown than the MAO local crown. It made the MAO crown seem insignificant; yet it should have been the star of the show. (NT)No name
