Being First Runner Up to Miss Florida is far from failure, and I am deeply honored. I told myself last summer that I would regret never giving Miss Florida and this childhood dream a shot. So, I did it. I went all in. I truly couldn't have done anything better and l've never felt prouder or more confident in my performance. I stood in the final two and was confronted with something l've never felt before in that moment: peace. I stood calmly as I witnessed relentless begging to God for the opportunity. Watching this, and feeling overwhelming peace, I realized that I wasn't going to become Miss Florida. My life didn't need this title and I definitely didn't need to beg for it. I didn't manufacture my life story. I didn't write a children's book. I didn't portray a different Anjelica than what is true. I was me. I am so proud to be me. I have the most incredible life & simply stated: life goes on. To my friends and family: THANK YOU will never be enough. You all showed up for me and I couldn't be more grateful. You are both my anchor and my launchpad. Thank you for being in my village and shaping me into who I am. I truly had so much fun this week.
