Subject Author Date Not knocking married women, but USA needs to eliminate married women competing. I think they felt it would increase numbers/popularity but it seems most states dropped in numbers. I also blame the bad publicity, lack of prize package and no appearances on the downfall. Doubtful a married women will ever win Miss USA and they have multiple pageants for marrieds to compete in.
