Very perplexed by the motivation here as well. Everyone knows there is no money in running a local and in 2017, this mother tried to get the Miss Florida board to dethrone Reece Weaver (yes, now of Dallas Cowboys Cheer fame) in pursuit of having her daughter assume the title because Reece won a local where she might have been only one of two contestants. She was trying to claim she was not qualified to be at the state pageant, despite there being at-large teens entered and Reece being the returning first runner up. It was shady then and whatever this is is likely also shady, but the desire to come back as a local director to the same organization she sued is extremely questionable. Also, why is this local a 3 day event? -- Pageant Guru Message Board

Doesn't Florida already have four locals in this immediate area? North Florida, Northeast Florida, Jacksonville, and Freedom? Why would they need a fifth and have it run by someone who sued the organization? This kind of situation is exactly why families start to second-guess their involvement. MAO has always held itself to a higher standard, but allowing someone with a documented history like this to direct a local? That’s a problem.
