Whoever wins, their state will be strongly pushed to find appearances for Miss America in their state.
So when thinking about your winner, consider that.
Here are some examples from the ones the board is talking about.

AL-Do they want to go through another year of that?
Not name a replacement Miss AL again?

MD - With a new group taking over soon, will that make this extra work feasible.

NY - A win here would put a large spotlight on what happened at their state pageant. Do they want to have to finally answer questions?

......but not someone from New England which has not had a winner since 1933 when Marian Bergeron of Connecticut was named Miss America 1933 on Sept. 9, 1933. I still have not had clarity----is Miss Maryland from Iran, Kuwait, or Pakistan? Key word search those countries (top right corner) and all come up with posts about Maria Derisavi.
