Subject Author Date Not only did Bebe live to 95, but she was only 18 when she won Miss America. She literally graduated from high school and won Miss Minnesota and went to Miss America. Some of the winners from the 70's were already in their 20's when they won Miss America. Actually, it seems that a lot of the contestants involved in the 1970 pageant died very young. That particular class has a very high death rate. Pam Eldred would also be counted among them because she was the reigning queen. I wonder if some health hazard existed that year that lead to them contracting various fatal illnesses over the years? Layers of dangerous soil is breathed in by those in the present.
