Subject: They aren't represented that year. Maybe some folks in those states will be angered about it and offer to direct the state's pageant, or they put enough public pressure on Thom to relent to the former state directors who left.

Oh, I don't know, maybe figure it out as they have for 70 years? Let's not act like this "what will we do if there's no director" thing has happened for years and years. It's a relatively new thing and when something new like this happens, 99.99999% of the time it's due to poor leadership that should be replaced. Short of that, there is no excuse to have an open call of any type and then use the excuse that some states have no directors when there are many pageant people who would 100% take over the state directorship.
