Subject: Mary Ann! Blasphemy! Lol How could she be on your bottom 10? That face! That personality! She was so beautiful and cute. Before my time, but I've seen the tape. I thought she was a slam dunk winner.

Before my time too - the year my mother was born hah. I have no objections to your jovial reply, but one thing I've never understood, is imagine how boring discussion would be if we all had the same lists! For the record, I had Mary Anne 7th in Talent, 3rd in Gown (where my scoring focuses on fashion / fit), 8th in Swim (where my scoring focuses on fitness and figure, which admittedly weren't really the goals back in 1959, which admittedly brought with it a certain level of disjointedness in my scoring. Overall, I had her 7th of the Top 10, and 4th of the Top 5 (ahead of only Iowa, who ironically was her 1RU). So not bad scores by any means, I just had her ranked 51st of the 60 Miss Americas I've seen in competition. For the record, and speaking of scoring disjointedness, I thought the runaway winner of the pageant that year was Anita Bryant... who of course ended up being the literal devil lol.
