Subject: Power Steering Rack Seal Replacement ...

I think my power steering rack seals are shot in my 89 325i. I go through a tank of power steering fluid every other day. It seems to be leaking from around the bellows on the rack. I have heard that I need to replace the seals in the rack. How hard is this? I've heard it's not easy. I've completely redone all my suspension, is it harder than that? Would driving without the power steering belt hurt anything? Is it extremely hard to drive without p/s?

TIA
Brett
