Yes I have heard of it. Often called skimming the head (in UK anyway). It increases compression of the engine which theortically increases horsepower, depends what fuel octane you can get, normal pump 95 octane is only ok for about 9:1 compression ratio, 97 octane (super unleaded) can cope with 10.5:1 and 100 octance (Shell optimax??) can go even higher. The higher octane means the fuel air mix will resist igniting before the spark (detonation, like a diesel!). Not sure about the specifics with our engines though, standard compression ratios, wether it messes up the ECU etc.. But im sure someone can fill us in!
