Subject: I'm getting the thinner pads.
In reply to: Bill 84 318i 's message, "Gonna shave the rear spring pads, any thoughts?" on 01:08:50 06/28/02 Fri

I dont see why it would make it stiffer. They are pretty rigid anyway, all I can see it doing is keeping the metal peices rubbing eachother.

My front ones are like paper thin and my rears are almost a centimeter. I am going to try the lower spring pads and if that doesn't help I will probably try to modify the lower pad to fit the upper.

Good luck shaving it, hopefully you can get it even. I also hate how they keep the rears higher, the systems are designed for the cars with the lower rear lip.
