well the assembly looked as if I could just unfasten the hanger for the muffler, and then remove the muffler clamp that looked to clamp the piece of exhaust pipe going into the miffler to the rest of the pipe coming off the cat. I removed both but now it looks as if either rust has bonded the two and it'll take some work to free it, or the clamp was just pointless and it's a one-piece design. I'm about to go back outside and fiddle with it some more, perhaps it's just like the one guy who posted about his "02 sensor zen...it has become ONE with my exhaust.." awhile back on BEN lol.
