apart from covering the electricals like jaffar mentioned, it's best to wait until your engine is at least reasonably cooled down. there is a risk (that lucklily i have not had to deal with the effect) that when spraying a nice cold, hard, solid, massive blast of water on your nice hot engine, you might crack something. the head, the block, the exhaust manifold, any of it. or you might not and it might just supercool it like it has in my experience. just I don't recommend spraying the engine while it's hot based on my chancy lucky experiences. have fun! dont be afraid to use the soap setting on the pressure washer, it does help some.
