Linda, thanks for your comment. A long time ago I read of using the same solution as you tell if. Or it was very close to yours.

Growing up the only solution I knew of was the warm mild soapy water enema. Was always given with the bulb.

My aunt used,sometimes, Castile liquid soap.
She would get the pan out and run water till warm. Then put some into the pan of warm water. Forgot how many is she used to make it.
I remember her making the soapy water in the kitchen sink. Then getting my cousin. He never complained. Even when she told him he was going to get an enema.
She would take him to the kitchen. Towel on the table. Red enema bulb floating in the pan of soapy water. On his back on the towel. Being syringed a few bulb full.

She didn’t care if my friend and I were going in and out of the kitchen while he was given the bulb enema. Which was often! She seemed to like giving enemas.

I may try your solution.

I always gave soapy enemas. Solution made with bar of ivory soap.

Always used the bulb syringe.
