When I was home for the President's day weekend In our local county weekly newspaper I read an interesting fact in the "Looking Back" section. Each week they do a small articles listing news story 10, 25, 50 and 75 years ago.

In the 75 years ago list, they mentioned tons of scrap metal collected from towns and farms for the war effort was being shipped by rail. I know there was a war to be won and out troops needed our support, but I can't help but wonder how many old tractors and pieces of farm equipment were scrapped. I think this was the fate of one of our old steam tractors.
