On Wednesday afternoon, the United States Marine Corps quietly decided to discharge a young man named Joseph Pryor. Listed as a "future Marine" on his Facebook page, he had enlisted in 2015, but was currently in their delayed entry program.

After publicly bragging on Facebook about his role in the harassment and assault of a young black woman, Shiya Nwanguma, at a Donald Trump rally, and posting a viral image of himself yelling at her, the Marine Corp decided he wasn't what they were looking for...



Captain Kevin Hoffman, deputy judge advocate of the United States Marine Corps, informed the Daily News that:
"Josheph Prior demonstrated poor judgement in the use of social media that associates himself with a racially charged altercation at a political rally.

Hatred toward any group of individuals is not tolerated in the Marine Corp. and he is being discharged from our delayed entry program effective yesterday."




In the United States, we do have freedom of speech, but this does not mean freedom from consequences. Joseph Pryor just learned this lesson the hard way.
