The United States spends nearly a trillion dollars every single year on anti-poverty programs.

$668 billion spent by 126 federal anti-poverty programs.
$284 billion spent by state welfare programs.
$952 BILLION TOTAL SPENT PER YEAR

That’s $86,000 per family of four in poverty. And yet 47 million remain in poverty.

By contrast, most private charities pay out 75% of the money they raise towards the goods or services they exist to provide, the opposite of government charity.
