The green, chattering excitedly, flies to Liraz's shoulder as the girl walks along the beach. For a moment, they sound like teenagers gossiping. "He did? A bronze? Oh, my! That's wonderful! Where are you thinking of nest..."

The green hops down starts digging in the sand, spraying it all over the place and humming to herself. Her delicate wings are held out behind her so as to avoid getting dirt on them. She laid nine eggs.

Then, she stuck out her little chest and sat down to guard them, having inherited the strange, protective instinct from her mother.
