Seventeen turns old as she stood upon the sands for her first time. Maybe this would be her time, maybe it wouldn't. Much like many others before, perhaps she would find her lifemate amongst the eggs of another clutch. Though . . . if that was so, would she be there? Or would her life take her back to the roads that she had lived upon all of her life? Traveling from one end of Northern to other. Even having one trip to the much larger Southern continent. If she left these sands . . . would she ever return again? If . . . what an ugly word. She thought. It brought up all of the posibilities yet showed no solution. If . . . how could these presumptions help her? They couldn't. She'd just have to make her own descisions. "What if" was not a thing she often liked to think about, unless it was dealing with a problem and leant somehow to the solution thereof.

Again she shook her head, clearing her mind of the thoughts. If one's mind is troubled how would they be able to attract (sp?, can't spell today) a draonet? Then again, if they're turely ment for you, what should it matter? There was that word again "if". Of COURSE it was a definate. It wasn't a matter of "if" it was a matter of "being". As she'd seen repetadly upon the sands just today it was indefinately the dragonet that chose. Who could sway one so determined to find their lifemate? Their SOULmate? For that is truely what they become. Something entangled with your own soul and thoughts. Not merely some odd beast that you happen to share your life with and care for, the dragon is that other half that you never knew was empty.

She reflected upon stories she'd heard from years past. Dragons climbing up into the stands in order to find the one that they KNEW was the right one, even when all those around thought the person shouldn't even stand upon the sands. Just the oposite she'd heard of young people climbing over the stands to answer the call of a young, pleading dragonet. From the start could the newly forged bond be that strong? She peered around upon the young people who were either now feeding their young dragonets, or leading them off the hot sands. For a moment she shifted her wieght, the heat was getting upon her nerves in the slightest. Yes, it could be that strong. She could see it, in the young, bright eyes of the person. Even then they'd be ready to die for the dragon besides them perchance the situation called upon it.

Yet agian she turned her full attention upon the eggs, some were still rocking, others the claws and nose of the small dragons could be seen tearing at the shells. Though the golden egg still remained silent, along with a few others, not quite ready to reveal themselves upon the hot sands.
