Kalya stared at the Hatching Sands, at the domed top, and the floor of stone, covered, by, in the center, sands which gave the ground its name. She saw the much-depleted number of eggs still lying on the Sands, and how protective Kylith was of all of them.

Kalya briefly shoved a small pile of sand into the air, which spiraled, standing still for a fleeting second, then losing its wings and drifting back down to join with the ground again. She sighed, waiting was the hardest thing of all to do.

She ought to know, she'd had to wait thirteen and a half turns before she could go and try to Impress, and she was just over the age line as it was. I guess when you Impress, though, it all seems worth the wait, as if you would have waited turns and turns longer, and not noticed it, if only you could do this one thing: find your lifemate.
