Lance just shrugged instead of laughed, looking down at her cup of klah. “There’s nothing to thank me for. I merely provided the drink. I should have stopped you from eating that.” Her cold blue eyes were inquisitive rather than apologetic, no matter her remark.

Lance thought for a moment. “Grenith’s was the first I’ve witnessed, though I’ve heard many tales of the odd green. She’s normally dealt with rather severely, but I do believe the process of birth would be enough punishment for the most lustful of greens.”

Darlith considered the green’s comment for a moment, wondering how exactly to answer. You must understand, gentle green, that with mine, one must expect the unexpected. Yes, it may be fun for them to be friends, if they are compatible. And I have won a flight… once. He paused, trying to make sure his answer was accurate. To greenrider K’mir, she was weyrmated. However, she became very on-edge with him, moreso than she is now. After a while, she left him, and we found ourselves here. Lance has never really loved a man, and I have reason to believe she never will.

The blue nodded at Avianyth’s confession. It is only natural, of course, for a rider to be nervous during the first flight. She doesn’t know what to expect, of course. You must support her, as well as you can. See if you can find any blues or browns now that she will trust, and have them enter. It will make her mind more at ease.

Lance watched silently as the flits came to their Impressed, but only one, the little hopping one, had caught her interest. She watched Majestic with a serene if detached gaze, inviting him silently to come closer if he’d like, but she would not come pick him up.

“It is fine,” Lance said softly. “So long as no harm is done, they cannot be blamed.”

Darlith, ever so like his rider, simply waited calmly for her to understand the question. Even at her child-like attitude, there was no hint of laughter in his kind voice when he answered. I believe, my lady, that it is too early yet to tell. We shall see, if you and yours have the patience to stay.
