In reply to: Yima 's message, "Sorry to keep T'bel waiting... I was house-sitting all weekend, and their 'net connection is horrible. >_< But now I get to write Yima! *squees*" on 13:22:13 09/20/05 Tue

T'bel listens patiently to the Master Wherhandler, eyes continually holding her gaze as she speaks, and thus holding the woman as an equal. Only after she finishes does T'bel close his eyes, and this to consider the offer placed before him. In truth, he is all for it, New Isle's stores are full after years with of little threat, and forging the bond with the newest Craft of the island would be a good step forward -- in friendship, and in goal.

"Well met, Master Yima. I am T'bel, rider of Bronze Quilth."

T'bel ignores the amused glances thrown his way at what many would consider an unnecessary return greeting -- but the bronzerider has not adjusted to his new posterity, and in a way... does not wish to. Ranking does not give him the right to assume that others should know him immediately and thus not deserve the respectful words of introduction.

The Weyrleader pauses in speech with his thoughts, instinctively extending his hand with the brief silence but stopping half-way through the gesture, uncertain if after the woman's prior edginess, such a suggestion of touch was the best. Still, he decides not to lower it. If she chose to shake, she could. If not, he'd lower it back to his side and draw no attention to the lack of response.

"Assuming Weyrwoman Wessae agrees with me, I believe there is much the Weyr can do for you and yours, and I believe the Weyr would be grateful for the aid that your craftsmen and their..." He hesitates, admittedly at a loss for words as to just what sort of relationship a Wher qualified as, "...companions can provide for the Weyr. I feel, however, that I should bring this matter up with Wessae before I give you an answer."

Shifting his gaze again, he considers how this alliance could officially be forged throughout the Weyr, and then recalls the meeting soon to be held. "Craftmaster, would you be willing to briefly attend a portion of the Wingleaders meeting? In this way, the Weyr would be entirely represented in such an important addition, and you could present your ideas to a larger audience to perhaps get them implemented more quickly."
