Salty opened his mouth to reply “Brown or blue”, but he was cut off as his sister all but ran into him, panting from her run.

“Salty!”

He looked up, making sure she was looking at his face before he spoke to her. “Elly, what is it? What’s wrong?” He asked, and his gaze flicked to the rest of the weyrbrats. “Guys, this is Elly, my sister. What’s wrong, El?”

“It’s, it’s…” She cast a desperate glance at the others. “I don’t know how to say it…”

“She’s deaf – I’ll have to sign.” Salty explained, and he turned his attention back to her.

[What is it?]

[A green dragon! G-R-E-N-I-T-H. She has laid eggs! Nine! And they need candidates!]

Salty stared at her. “You’re joking.”

She shook her head. “True. Really. I was with her mate when she called him.”

Reeling, Salty turned back to his friends. “She says that a green. Grenith, has clutched nine eggs, and that they need candidates for them. Want to go?”

((OK, I am writing the clutch, and I may have to split up the weyrbrats. Is that OK, or shall I put them all together?))
