"Oh...thank you Headwoman. And D'minic." Wessae says, glad and surprised by the {klah}, which she drinks without protest. She knows better than to disobey Gisella. Grinning appreciatively, she sits and beckons the Headwoman to do the same. "Well, it looks like you're quite busy getting ready for the Hatching Feast, here. I was wondering Headwoman, if it would be possible to make this a prelude? It's no disrespect to the parentage of the eggs, but it's alot of work for the Weyr to do two feasts in such short succsession."

Before she can go on, Doe pops in and begins chattering at Gisella's browns and then at the Weyrwoman herself. Wessae smiles at her little green and nods. "It's alot of work for you and your crew, I mean to say. One feast is a few nights in the kitchen, two full feasts, well, that's an awful lot more. And the cleanup as well. If we have a celebration for these new nine riders and their families, with the food cooking now, and they are the first honored at the next clutch's feast..." Now she's musing to herself. "It's been done like that before, when two queens have clutched close together. Shrineth is quite close to flying, so close that by the time we've cleaned up for this feast, we'll need to set out for the next."

Wessae knows that most of the weyr has heard Shrineth's complaining over a green clutching before her, and hopes that Gisella won't think she's slighting the newly hatched dragons or their families. But she knows as well that as a leader you can't rush about simpering to everyone. You had to put forth your own ideas. "I wanted to discuss it with you, as you're in charge of most of the goings on surrounding the new weyrlings and the feast preparations. If it wasn't so close to Shrineth's clutching, or any clutching, I wouldn't have proposed this. But this is so unexpected that..." She spreads her hands wide, leaving Gisella free to finish the thought.

"If we have a small celebration for this clutch of nine, we can have a weyr-wide celebration of ALL the new weyrlings at the end of all the hatchings."
