Author: L'geri and Langerith
Subject: Two Halves of One Whole

L'geri and Langerith walkied into the Lower Caverns. Langerith was still leepy, and he was halfway first lidded.
L'geri was wearing close woven drak green pants, and a white shirt. He had left his vesst up in his Barrack. He didn't notice that he had no shoes on, mainly because he ws hungry, and his brain was still slightly groggy from his nap.
Langerith?
Yes, my L'geri?
What made you pick me out of all the other candidates?
You were...
the blue thought about it. You were right. You were right for me, I mean. No one else would fit me. Whoever that is.
I know that you're my Impressed blue, the best of all Pern. Does that count for anything?
Maybe.
The blue was trying not to laugh, a very odd scene.
L'geri found a table at the egde of the cluster. Langerith waddled, half-skipping, to sit beside his. He folded his large wings against his backbone, slightling unfurled for balance. He lay on his fore arms, the stone flags of he floor cool against his stomach hide.
His eyes whirled a faint blue/green color. They weren't whirling very fast, and you could barely see the color. His eyes were now first lidded. As L'geri watched, he closed his second and third eyelids.
L'geri looked around for an authroative figure. He saw Wessae talking with who he pressumed to be the Weyr's new Headwoman. He wondered where all the other candidates were.
He pulled out a small belt knife, and began sharpening it. As he sharpened, a drudge came to ask him what he would like.
"Nothing stronger than klah, some roast Wherry, or maybe some soup please?"
The drudge nodded, and disappeared in the kitchens. She came back with a pot of hot klah, a large bowl of soup, and a palatter of spiced wherry leg.
"Young men who are also Weyrlings need more than Young men who are not weyrlings." She looked at the dark sea blue dragon by the table, and nodded, somewhat sharply.
"Give my regards to your blue."
She turned, and left. Before he attacked his meal, L'geri watched her go. She was a saucy little thing, black hair falling to almost her waist, but it was gathered in a hair net. She had a nice figure, he reflected. She was even somewhat pretty.
L'geri attacked the roast Wherry first. He didn't waste time using his fork, he jus used his belt knife to slice , and he transferred the dripping slice to his mouth. Every so often, he poured som klah into a cup she had left, and cleared his mouth with a cup of klah.
He sank into his chair. This was good eating. He had plenty of food, and his dragon was right there with him. He knew that he would not have to leave the Weyr, and in a few days, his life woulkd be busy with Weyyrling lessons. He was ready. This was the life of a weyrling.
