( It's fine about the leavingness. I had it for a while, too. And, The Daemons is VERY good, The Ambassadors of Death is pretty good if I remember, and the Planet of the Giant Spiders is cool but the effects are more laughable than usual, and it's the last third Doctor episode! )

D'ctor furrows his brow, pawing at his chin with forefinger and thumb for a moment, gazing off into space. His grey eyes focus again when he nods. 'Yes. Yes, there were other islands..' he speaks haltingly, as if a little unsure as to how many details to divulge to his young friend. With a sigh, he leans forward and his voice drops to a husky whisper that even T'gan might have problems perceiving. 'I counted at least twenty of them. Little islands, like satellites of this one. Some couldn't have been more than half a kilometre or less across, and some were barely above sea level. They were.. beautiful. All white sand and shade trees that bore a small amount of fruit. Nowhere near enought to support us for long, of course - we totally stripped the islands of fruit and fish we were there so long - but some of the larger ones could be treated as spots for nonriders if cultivated correctly..' D'ctor glances nervously to one side as a passing drudge hopes to eavesdrop, probably thinking the bronzerider's words to be mere gossip. When she hurries on at his harsh glare, he continues.

'T'gan, you may think I'm describing a paridise but.. there was something that I didn't like about those islands, not at all. For instance, no one saw them when we came, and now there are full sized trees and.. and..' He pauses, hands tightening into fists, voice trailing off for a few brooding moments. 'It took me several days of flight to reach the first one. And no matter how we flew we couldn't get back until I could remember an image from the Weyr and we went between.'

Then, he seems to relax a little, as if a great burden were off his chest. The rider sits up a little straighter and continues, though his voice is still low. 'I.. want to go back, despite my inner warning. Do you have any good maps in your weyr?'
