Shadow gave a little laugh as he saw what Elly signed to her brother. He continued for a litle while to translate, giving Terent a dark look when he started. Shadow, unlike Terent, was signing the full conversation, not just little bits of it.

He stopped signing the other's words as Elly gave him the compliment. [Thanks.] He said, remembering perfectly how he'd learned to sign. Back then, it was as though he couldn't speak himself. [Actually, we all met in a funny way.] He looked around at the others, and decided to explain the conversation once he was finished with his story.
Whenever he came across a name he hadn't used before, he'd spell it out, and point to the person he meant. In Korea's case, he just jerked his head towards Graythorn to show it was the person Graythorn was talking about.
[It was a few months ago, I guess. By then, Graythorn, G-R-A-Y-T-H-O-R-N, and Korea, K-O-R-E-A, were already best friends. Their parents weren't always around, so they were as close as brothers. Cara, C-A-R-A, is the daughter of a bronzerider, and his wing was practicing. Faini, F-A-I-N-I, has a blind sister, and she doesn't get along with her parents because she believes they give her sister special treatment. I was new to the Weyr.
[It was all one morning. Korea and Graythorn were coming in for an early breakfast. Cara was helping her dad get some food before a flight drill. Faini's parents had been talking about her sister. I was trying to find a goldrider, as it was my first day.
[Faini was hiding in a corner. Graythorn and Korea picked the table in that corner. Cara was going to the trash can in the corner to throw away the remains of her father's breakfast. I dropped my beltknife, and a rider passing by kicked it to the corner. Coincidence? I don't think so. And, this happens to be that very table.]
Shadow smiled, and put his hand down on the table. It was the table they'd all met at, and the table they picked everytime. Looking over, he saw that the bluerider had joined them, and caught his name.
[Apparently, we've been joined by a bluerider, L'geri, L-'-G-E-R-I.]

Graythorn sighed. "Yeah, I guess Terent's right. I... I just..." he sighed heavily. He just couldn't bringhimself to admit feeling replaced.
Cara gave him a sympathetic smile and reached over the empty seat (for K'rea) to pat his shoulder while Faini gave him a one-armed hug. "Don't worry." Cara cooed.
"It'll be alright." Faini smiled.
"Yeah, I know." Graythorn said, sighing and gently pulling away from the girls. "It's just... he'd better come."

As L'geri arrived, Graythorn gave him a long stare. While the others gave him an encouraging smile or said some knd of hello, Graythorn was deep in thought. Then, all of a sudden, he spoke.
"You... you impressed at Grenith's clutch, right? Do you know K'rea?"

((Heh. Sorry it's been so long, but my com is being stupid. Anyway, I've been having fun with thoughts. Salty likes Cara, Terent likes Faini... heh. And then I have them both comfort Graythorn, though I don't think your boys will mind. However, I must warn you, GC; Shadow is developing a crush on Elly. ^.~))
