Noting Shadow’s look at Terent (Elly noticed ever nuance of expression in a person), the girl filed it away for future reference. She watched the story with amused attention, smiling at the coincidence of it all. [It must be fate!] She agreed, studying his hands as he spelt out the bluerider’s name. The honorific of the name had to be signed with the right hand opening, to show a gap. The rider names did make thing far more complicated…it was so much easier to just use the first and second letters of the names for the person spoken about.

[Why did you come to this Weyr?] She asked, deliberately nonchalant on the subject. [We got sent by our aunt, since she has a friend here. She…] The falter in her signing was barely perceptible. [Didn’t think our father was worth staying with.]

With his normal duck of the head, Salty smiled at L’geri as he came to the table. A friend of Terent?

((That’s fine with me! And Elly says sure! Though her self-esteem is really low, so if he does anything about it he’ll have to convince her that it’s her he’s talking about…))
