Trag gave a small smile, and hid some giggles. D’minic’s double-take, plus his actual shock, was rather amusing. He listened attentively—as a HaD, he could only hear Uly’s side of their talk, but he could guess they were talking about his birthday, so stopped listening after Ulyssanth’s first comment. If they were talking about his birthday, he didn’t want to spoil it!

“Yeah, you never were so good with dates. But, we can still celebrate tomorrow!”

Trag over-exaggerated rolling his eyes. “I was just kidding! It would be fun, though!”

Baki gave the boy a chirp, and Trag smiled to him. The brown sent images of Trag and a clutch of eggs, signalling that he believed Trag could impress if he wanted! Trag stroked the brown hide gently. “I’m too young, Baki. That’s all. When I’m old enough, though…”

At that, Tyri woke, yawning. He turned a lazy gaze towards Trag, and looked at him hard. Then, he chirped. Yes. When Trag was old enough. Trag gave a little laugh at that. He knew it was probably because he was their Impressed that they thought so highly of him, though he was sharply reprimended by Tyri for this. With the little one’s signalling, he figured out that the bronze suspected he could impress a blue or green, but not a bronze. Trag swatted at him playfully for that, and the bronze hissed and flew to the shoulder. It seemed Tyri was already an adept of flying.

“Sorry.” Trag said to D’minic, grinning. “Tyri decided to tell me he thinks I’ll impress a green or blue when I’m old enough. Though, that wouldn’t be a bad thing!” Trag grinned with the thought of impressing even a green, which would be the best friend he’d ever have in his life. Then, suddenly, Baki’s eyes started to whirl, and he launched into the air, sending Trag one image before winking between.. Trag grinned. “Looks like he’s after a green!”

Then, he looked at D’minic, and grinned sheepishly. “What do you think? If you could predict a color for me, what would it be?” Of course, D’minic had no way of knowing, but being a rider, he might be able to see the traits of different ranking riders, right?
