Hi Rez - I remember you :-) I am sad to hear that you're having trouble sleeping and searching for some quiet. I'm wishing you the best. I know it's not easy. Sometimes when I've been doing ok for a while, then dreams or sleeplessness and anxiety returns it's because there is something in my life that is stressing me out. I may not even know exactly what it is at first, but it's like my body knows it before my mind does. So if there's anything going on in your life right now that can be a stress trigger, like school starting, or a job ending, roommate issues, or even seasonal changes...whatever it may be, I find it's helpful to look at it piece by piece. Otherwise the whole of it can be overwhelming and my thoughts get carried away and suddenly EVERYTHING is wrong. If there isn't anything like that going on that you can put your finger on, then it could be that maybe if you're in a place where you feel relaxed or safe then that can awaken some of the feelings that your body usually doesn't allow you to feel so that it can function. It's another layer of healing, growth, and awareness that's ready to be processed. It's ok to have a few sleepless nights, or to think about the past. That's the only way the mind can overcome some of the trauma. If it gets to the point where you are having trouble with daily responsibilities and functioning, then it's time to consider talking to someone in person, if you have a confidant, friend that you trust, or a counselor of some kind (?). In the meantime, take care of yourself the same way you would take care of a treasured or beloved person or pet. Lots of positive self-talk, eat well and exercise (play) to encourage the body to be ready for sleep. If dreams come or sleep is shy - distraction with reading, music, binge watching your favorite series, or things like that can take your mind off the moment. I hope you can find some quiet soon. If the weather is nice and there is a park nearby, a dose of nature can do wonders, too. Sending hugs to you, bird
