I have ever experienced "fun" over the knee punishment. My mom handled it until she remarried, then my stepdad would hand spank over the knee, but typically i would then have corner time, and then after, a longer session with a leather strap.

With my fiance, it is more of the same.. the over the knee is the prelude, where i am asked questions, made to answer on issues, and then i either get the strap or a thin rod.. So, i cannot really answer to the fun vs discipline
