I remember a story about a teenage boy. He always thought his parents were so backwards and plain dumb. Always wanted his to follow rules, get a good education, and stay out of trouble.

But he tirned out to be very successful and at his 25th class reunion, he ran into an old friend he had not seen in a long time. The friend asked him how his parents were doing and if he was getting along with them any better than in high school.

He told his friend, "You know back then, they were always on my ass and I really resented it. I thought they were so stupid. But after experiencing being an adult, having to pay for my own mistakes, making my way through the world, and raising children, it is amazing how wise they became in my mind once I left home."
