It depends on the person and what works for them. But what is the reason for spanking, and what is it supposed to accomplish? If we are spanked by parents until we are in college, were the spankings effective? If a 21-yr-old is still not doing what the parents want, then how will more spankings change anything? Should the parents maybe try something else, possibly more adult consequences to prepare the college student for real adult life? If a college student needs spankings to help motivate them to accomplish their goals, they can find someone to be their disciplinarian, but that's a consensual adult relationship. A parent spanking a "child" who doesn't want to be disciplined seems pretty pointless, and also quite strange when the child is already an adult. It sounds more like a fantasy than a real situation.
