I recently picked up my sister from a party. Bunch of screaming, giggling stupid prepubescent girls. Just in the door was this little foyer or mudd room or whatever and a divider to the living room. On a ledge on the divider was a hairbrush. I don't know if it makes any difference, but they were an Asian family. From what I could see it was one of those houses where nothing is out of place. That hairbrush (btw, no hairs in the bristles, bristles were very smooth and untouched) was DEFINITELY out of place. So, I'm assuming that that paddle as you described and the picture you provided is DEFINITELY out of place hanging on the wall of the kitchen. I'm sure your friend noticed that. She may have watched you sit in class after a recent paddling and being very familiar with having a roasted butt knows what to look for. She may have listened to things you said. There are certain things you say and ways to say them that indicate you have a secret and may (even subconsciously) want to let that secret out. She probably does the same thing. Putting 2 and 2 together she concluded that your mom spanks you.
You watched her stare uneasily at that paddle and even squirm in her seat. "My mom would kill me" is not something a college freshman would openly say to a casual friend unless she's giving clues. And to suddenly be hugging a virtual stranger and texting you indicates that she feels a kinship with you. Especially the text she sent, telling you she feels a 'connection' with you and telling you that she and her mom are going to have 'a long talk'. She's making an admission and hoping you will just come out and say "My mom spanks me." And why on earth would she say your moms would get along?
Also, I hope this doesn't make you cringe but I'm pretty certain she has had a crush on you all semester.

As for your bestie. I don't think she wants your mom to spank her. She might be curious about what it's like to get spanked, but I think moreso she just delights in you getting your butt beat. She likes to tease you and whether or not it's sexual, she gets off on it. It's like that strange curiosity we have when someone is in trouble. We secretly like it, although we feel compassion.

Does your friend or bestie know that YOU initiated this arrangement with your mom? I've got to tell you that took guts.
