The question of tears during a spanking is actually quite complicated. Firstly, should it be a parent's aim to spank to tears? On the other hand, should it be the child's aim to hold off crying as long as possible, when tears may in some cases reduce the length or severity? At the sadistic end, there are parents who say, stop your bawling or I'll really give you something to cry about.

I remember when I was about 9 or 10 a teacher gave me a few slaps on the back of my legs for doing something I had specifically been told not to do earlier in the day. It stung a bit, but was not unbearable, yet I cried buckets. In that case it was partly humiliation and partly anger at myself for being so stupid.

Of course there are some who say crying is cathartic. I would say that only applies in adult on adult situations.

If I've caused someone I love to be hurting, I can be crying during the lecture or scolding, before the spanking even begins. [ Post a Reply to This Message ]
