Girls do like to talk and as we get older we still like to talk ask my hubby- lol.

I know the boy who got the strap always complained about how much it stung. Yet we who got paddle or hairbrush complained louder and longer about the sting, maybe because we were girls?

Waiting as mother went to the drawer to get Mr. H. and thinking all the time about how it was going to sting was enough to make you promise not to repeat the misbehavior it added to the spanking.

Dad spanked as well and both he and mom were right handed so it gave another look at the same spot on the carpet that is until my tears obscured the view. Dad spanked with his hand and believe me it stung plenty.

The dreaded Mr. H. was on moms lap as the scolding took place and as much as I tried not to look at it I always did and today I place it on my lap to so the kids all look at it as well. Paying attention while I was being scolded as you mentioned next to impossible and when the scolding was done the next steps included mom getting Mr. H. out of the way as I was about to occupy that same space.
