I do envy you having many friends to talk with. We had two big neighborhood group discussions and that is all I remember. I kind of doubt that there were others since my memory of spanking-related childhood events is rather sharp. Did you ever see spanking implements around your friends' houses? I remember seeing a shop class project once.

The project was a short spanking paddle. It was about the size of a clothes brush. It had a short leather loop through the handle end and a large number of holes in the spanking end. The holes were countersunk and so each had a dimple around it. It had been varnished since that was required for any project getting graded. It was resting on a credenza in the dining room. I didn't know the kid or the family very well so I never learned the grade the teacher gave it. I can predict that whoever got spanked with it gave it at least an A if not an A+. I did wonder at the time how the student who made it felt about the quality of his work! Like most of us, he probably figured that it was "for" a naughty sibling's bottom ONLY!

What does your Mr. H look like? Are there interesting details about his background? "Made in England" perhaps? The kind of bristles, the kind of wood, ...? When you were staring at your mom's did you notice in any unusual or eye-catching features?
