Do not use "British English" when editing a story. Such as, harbour for harbor, colour for color, etc. I'm in the U.S. and it's jarring to me. Especially since I've read a story earlier with regular English and get the same story with a later edit that has British English.

I have some stories I'd like to contribute, but that's why I'm hesitant to submit them. Also, want to find a way to remain anonymous for submitting them.
