Forced Relapse - A Review

Part One - The Author

The person who claimed to be the author of this story is known on Reddit as Which-Tough-9294, but asked to Nick the Noble Leaf Librarian to refer to them as 'Leo'. In actuality it appears the story was generated algorithmically using software. Therefore aside from being a liar, the person claiming authorship is nothing more than a copy-editor for a word guessing machine, if that.

The story was posted as being by an anonymous author on the smoking-storiescom website on 2026-01-26. It along with other stories from the smoking-storiescom website have been republished on Reddit by user Which-Tough-9294, but not elsewhere to my knowledge.

Part Two - Forced Relapse

For the Harper family, smoking has become a major issue, Evelyn, the mother quit smoking years ago when she first became pregnant, but all three of her daughters have taken up the habit for reasons of their own. Tired of their mothers stubborn resistance the daughters have come up with a plan to resolve the issue once and for all.

Part Three - Comments

Leaving aside for the moment the issue of trust in authors who write under pseudonyms that they are telling the truth about who actually wrote (or in this case generated) the story which will be dealt with in the appendix, there is a major issue with the plot-line. The default plot-line for the majority of smoking fetish stories is that someone who does not smoke is introduced to the habit by some means and by stories end takes it up. The skill of the author is employed in varying this plot-line to make the story interesting to the reader.

When the story is created using a word guessing machine, it's assembled, word by word, line by line, there is no thought involved, no understanding of either the words used or the plot-line created. It is very likely that every smoking fetish story published and findable online has been fed into the software. In this case the software has extruded a story that is clearly derived from one of the nastiest plot-lines written, 'Trina's Tale'(1) published in 2001 and it's final chapter/epilogue.

As 'Trina's Tale' concludes, the narrator having taken part in the torture of a sibling to get them to restart smoking is contemplating a similar intervention with their mother. In this story the mother is tied to a chair in a poorly vented room and the three girls smoke heavily all the while talking up how much the mother used to enjoy smoking. The mother of course succumbs and starts smoking again. There's no real drama in the story which is the fault of all the other computer generated stories on the site. Rather it's a reflection of the people who initially programmed the software and their obsessesion with the idea of 'emotional safety'.

That this concept can generate emotionally powerful stories can be seen in 'Trina's Tale'(1), 'The Intervention'(2) and the audio story 'The Smoke I Couldn’t Escape: A Summer of Cigarettes'(3), though only one of these three stories, the second manages to do so without resorting to physical violence.

Part Four - Conclusion.

In conclusion, I do not recommend this story, anything published to Reddit with the name Which-Tough-9294 attached to it or published via the smoking-storiescom website, quite simply none of it can be trusted.

Appendix: Trust and the Anonymous Author.

For all fiction written under pseudonyms the reader needs to trust that the person who released the story is telling the truth, both about who wrote it and where the story came from. There are two cases known to the reviewer where lies were told about those things. The first is where someone using the pseudonym 'Lord Toede' claimed to have written the story 'The Girls of Lakewood'(4) which was in fact written by An02. The second case is that of An24 where I suspect that both stories they submitted to Loring came from other sources and they were misrepresenting themselves as the author. 'A Mothers Dilemma'(5) reads like an anti-smoking testimonial, the other story 'Cigarettes Get The Man'(6) was one that I believe I found in a slightly different form on a now lost(7) smoking fetish fiction website that also featured smoking fetish fiction built around the characters from 'Tom Sawyer' and 'Huckleberry Finn'.

Which-Tough-9294 by claiming authorship of algorithmically generated fiction has violated readers trust both ways, not simply by claiming false authorship, but by lying how the fiction was created.
