Subject: Grass Cutter is the Antithesis of SA golf!

NG has now adopted this new swing that is highlighted with the Grass Cutting drill (swing the club to and fro in front of you cutting grass in both directions independently of your body). Basicly they want you to swing he club with your hands and arms independently of the your body, a swing where the freely hinging hands lead, and the body follows.

If you know anything about the history of golf instruction you will note that the mechanics they are now advocating are straight from the book "Swing the Clubhead" by Ernest Jones who was teaching pro from the 30's and 40's.

Jones advocated a pendulum-like hand and arm swing that is heavily dependent on rythmn and tempo, the swing is best done with freely hinging wrists, and your wrist can only freely hinge if the club is held in a neutral vardon finger grip, which of course NG isn't.

Ernest Jones only had one leg (lost one in WW1) and played on one leg, so a pendulum swing would work for him, now could you imagine Moe playing on one leg with his normal setup, he couldn't, that's because doesn't swing with his hands and arms, Moe is a body swinger, and has said so on the Golf's Journeyman tape.

NG it seems, doesn't have a clue to get their new NGCIs who are all CG based on how to convert, so they just converted the swing to fit them I figure.
