Tom is correct. Bending the left arm adds a variable that will mess up a golf swing. The problem is that when you bend at the elbow in the backswing, is that when you straighten the arm on the downswing, you will prematurely lose the wrist cock. This will cause a loss of clubhead speed and fat shots. Don't ever bend the left arm on the backswing or downswing, it will only lead to trouble. KISS (keep it straight stupid)
