I hope you find this quote helpful: "Three aspects of Moe's leg and hip positins at impact help explain the curious dynamics of this great downswing. First, Moe's left knee is well forward of his left shoulder, a sign that he accelerated the club by shifting with his legs rather than by violently spinning the hips. Second, his right heel has remained on the ground, proof that he's moved his hips laterally rather than turn them. Finally, his left leg is bent at the knee. Had it straightened at this point, his clubhead would have bottomed out well behind the ball."

I do not believe in bringing the ball back in the stance, like with driver. I think it is important to learn the mechanics as to why Moe plays that ball up front like he does. Lastly, I think the straightening of the left leg is THE ONLY REASON for the clubhead to hit up short.

Heed these words only if you want to swing like Moe. If you want to swing like Jack K teaches, or NG teaches, or, even IMA teaches these things I talk about may not be meaningful.

Might I mention something else that may be helpful? Make yourself a tee with tape, as in the letter T. Address the driver with the ball just inside the left heel. Some would tell you to address the ball in relation to body parts because the stance is so wide so they tell you to address the ball outside the left shoulder (towards the target). Now step the right foot back, and it will feel like WAY back. Look at the ball from this position, and that stepping back will put you way behind the ball, and that is the position that most don't experience. You get so far behind the ball that even after the hit your head (not all of it) doesn't pass the tee...still behind the ball.

I hope you find this helpful.
