I am beginning to think that a big part of the problem with the citizens of PNG is they are too quick on the draw and combative to ever succeed in anything except bitching about their conditions. I asked a simple question about the requirements for being PM. One reply was was ok, just displaying sympathy for anyone who would try. The second, on the other hand, was a flat out insult and very demeaning to me. Now frankly I don't really need to care about this jerk, however, I think it may point out a flaw in New Guinean society. That being, if anyone suggests anything that might be different or radical, rather than getting a rational intelligent response or disscussion of the suggestion, they can expect to be shouted at, chastized, and made to look like a fool. This is why you can not get good discussions going from among the masses in PNG. They learn very quickly it is easier and more honorable to sit there and keep quiet and just watch the entire place got to hell. Let the loud mouths worry about it. They think they know everything anyway!!!
