I don't think you can blame it on people from any specific region of the country or the world for that matter. The problem is human ability and comes from several possiblities.

1. The people now in charge are unskilled and unqualified to run such an operation.

2. They are basically lazy and only concerned about their personal paychecks and getting off for the weekend.

3. They lack the education and skills to be good leaders who need to communicate with the employees who actually make the machine work and therefore cause great morale problems down the line.

4. They think they are above everyone else below them in the chain of operations and once again cause morale problems.

5. They forget that a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link and that although they (the leaders) might be the first link in the chain, it is the last link and all those in between who are actually doing the pulling. If the maintenance people fail and break the link then the damn plane doesn't fly any better than any other pile of scrape metal.

I betcha the correct answer is, ALL OF THE ABOVE!!

I suppose there are highlanders who could run this airline just fine. They just chose the wrong ones.

Maybe they need to sell this airline to the employees and let them run it. If they hire the wrong guy and he thought more of himself that he did the employees he would be sacked before he could do much damage.

Wanton
