Subject: Women are a part of the equation for good leadership
In reply to: 's message, "Waiting for the men" on 19:55:05 02/08/00 Tue

In one of the earlier replies here someone said that men will beat their way to power even if they get mauled. Maybe that is the problem with PNG. The men still act as though they are jungle warriors. A good leader does not have to bully his way around to be a good leader. You show me a country where the men are bullies in leadership of the country and I will show you a country of doom. Russia, Iraq, Ethopia, and the list goes on and on. A brief light shown for a while in (I think )Afghanistan. A woman came to power where this just does not happen. She began to transform the place into something more tolerate and "BANG", she is gone and the place is going back to it's barbaric ways. In American a few years back a president, Nixon, thought he could bully his way through the system. You see where he went.

Until PNG gets more freedom for all it's people, namely women, and they have the right to contribute to the good of the nation you will continue to see the same results you now have. The "Good ol Boys" with the jungle mentalities will continue to run over anyone who gets in their way. Without women in the government you are only using 1/2 of national your talent and have no checks and balances and good alternatives of change at election time.

And by the way. I am "Not" a women.
