My response would still be the same. The bottom line is these people are GUESSING.

Notice how you revisited the posts regarding the baseball pre-season poll. Maine was picked to finish first, based upon the educated guess that Maine is the defending champ with a lot of players returning. That hypothesis didn't fly, and they seldom do in the world of sports prognostication. It's not a science. Despite how intelligent the authors try to sound, it's all nothing more than guesswork.

Bainsey, it seems your reaction to polls depends on who is being picked to finish on top. When NU is picked your reaction is that polls are all worthless guesswork. When Maine is picked to finish first your reaction is "Boy, they sure got that one right."

Just to prove how much of a crapshoot these things are, I looked at Athlon while grocery shopping tonight and they don't even have the Huskies winning the A-10. They have UMass first and NU second. Didn't see where Maine was but UNH was 10th and URI 11th (out of 11).

For the record, I think there are four frontrunners with equal chances to win it and a couple others who could win it if they stay healthy and get a little lucky. Thats life in the A10.
