Subject: Binghamton's OCC next year

After speaking to my old roommate, he tells me that he ran into Nick Billings on campus yesterday and asked him who we are playing next year. Billings response, @ Kansas and Syracuse for our home opener!

Syracuse for your home opener!! Sure hope that you have the new arena open in time for that as it would be an incredible inauguration. In fact, I can't think of anyone else that would be more desirable unless of course you were looking for a guaranteed win. Defending National Champions just up I-81 a ways!! It should guarantee a sellout and maybe even bring a few new Bearcat's fans on board.

Now for the question that I have to ask, how many games did you have to guarantee SU that you'd play in the Carrier Dome to get them to come to Binghamton? I know UNH had to play two down in the Swamp to get Florida to come north for Matt Bonner's homecoming game. And I'm guessing that those two sacrificial lamb games down there didn't bring in the usual $$$$ as most games of that ilk.

Hello people, Binghamton is opening at SU, not vice versa.

The Syracuse game is tentatively scheduled for Dec. 18th, AT Syracuse. Maybe next year at Binghamton.... Still to be determined.

Actually, UNH-Florida was a 3 for 1 deal.

When's game number three in Florida???? I've looked at the results from the past five seasons and there have only been three games. I believe the deal was drawn up after Bonner signed his LOI with the Gators. UNH played at Florida during Bonner's freshman and sophmore season then Florida came to UNH during his junior season. They didn't play this year, Matt's senior year. To the best of my knowledge it was a 2 for 1 and UNH doesn't owe Florida another game down there.

If I remember correctly, Binghamton's deal with Syracuse was either 3 or 4 road games for one home game. The two games played the last two years count against the above. The agreement with Syracuse is that the game in Binghamton will be in the new arena when it is ready.

If Binghamton is saying that the Syracuse game is a home game this year, then they must be quite certain that the new arena will be ready to go.

Gentlemen: The arena, fieldhouse, events center or whatever they're calling it tocay will be ready, but the game will be played in Syracuse this year. They already have agreed on a date, I believe to be around Dec. 18th.

The word is that they had tentatively agreed to playing in Binghamton the following year (2004-05), several months ago.
